I wouldn't expect that. Google pretty much has said they aren't going to put in features that they don't like, regardless of user demand.

Part of that is creating a browser based on their ideals. Part of that is simply not wanting to allocate dev time to something they consider trivial or even bad.

Perhaps when their new UI is out.

Ignoring user demands though can blow up in your face.

Depends how many users demand it and how critical that feature is.

Well sure, if I hear 150 people out of a few thousand want something, and the rest don't or I feel it's just not right for the project, I'm not likely to implement it. But I certainly wouldn't treat the project as if I know better than all my users or my ideas are more important than theirs. That's a recipe for falling out of favor, especially when what I put in is causing problems for enough people. I don't think Google thinks about "critical features" now. They seem more about shaping Chrome into what they think is best for everyone (or them), or simply toying with it like a high school science lab.

So can I, lol. I mean absolutely no insult by it, but I get that vibe. He might do it that way, but his projects wouldn't last very long.

I wouldn't take it as an insult haha I said it myself. I think user input on a project is important but in the end the devs have the code, the devs know more about the project, and the decisions should be left to the devs.

I'm not an expert in these matters but surely Firefox isn't the only browser that isn't "without bugs haha they have loads of open bug reports"?

Not to worry. Again, at the time of version 10, there will be people over here recommending the latest from anywhere else other than by the regular update mechanism :)

Apart from the ocasional slow downs, (which I felt), this V9 is an improvement.
    It's faster and lighter.
I really don't believe on Chrome taking share on a long term basis.
After all, I stick with FF for the incomparable configurability.
And that's the strengh of it; and that's why we stay with it.

And now it's getting back to its roots; let's hope it goes on.

Yeah, nothing's bug free. Love is blind though for some.

It depends on how much Mozilla keeps improving, and what Google does or doesn't do as to whether Chrome turns into a memory or not. With Google, you never know. More rounds of privacy complaints or one of Google's other "hand in the cookie jar" incidents, could harm Chrome. Chrome also seems to be going backwards, as far as focus, whereas Mozilla seems to have come out of its "change" phase and started focusing back on the important things again. Chrome has done well for its short time in existence, but users are a finicky sort and can love you today and hate you tomorrow.

Definitely not. My point is that I'd expect more revisions between a major release. But like I said, it's been a while since I've used a stable browser - this might be how Chrome does it too.

We need to get over this "major release" fixation.
