Mint: Cinnamon or MATE?

    Which does the community prefer and why? I have used both and MATE even though it is old technology was ported very nice.

    I like Cinnamon a little better, although they're both good, mostly because it's based on newer technology and I like the menu layout better...

    They're the same. The only difference I saw is that Cinnamon is more customizable (or at least more popular in this area) and of course that comes with more resources drawn from your hardware.

    I'm not able tu run Cinnamon successfully on my machine.
    Even the software-rendered one.
    I run Mate and like it very much.
