"Nonsense" implies it is bothering you. No one has stated any of the speculation is fact. Folks are just having fun speculating!

I don't think bloatware is the word you're looking for.

    lol...

I hope it will be a free "expansion" pack. Glad to see the increased dev time on IE and interested to see what IE11 brings.

Doesn't look like there's anything there that would appeal to people that skipped 8 for various reasons. Just more of the same direction... But I am not surprised at all...

Hmmm....I was hoping for some love for the desktop UI. I guess we'll see when a trial version comes out.

If Blue doesn't introduce a new desktop interface to replace the disaster called Windows 8, I have no interest in an upgrade. Microsoft needs to get its act together fast! o_O

I've been able to bring most of Aero back with a few adjustments so I'm looking at some of the things I preferred in Win 7. I've added my own "Shut down, Restart, Log Off" icons in the task bar. I'm also using stardock's Fences.

It's not about whether something can be done or not. It's about the fact that MS decided to push this new UI down my throat. They could have simply disabled this by default and keep an option buried to re-enable everything the way it used to work for 15 years.

Absolutely agree with your comments on MS and their pushing tactics.

I do resist Metro by uninstalling most of the Windows 8 apps and staying in the desktop. Though I have grown to like the start page especially after customizing it.

Is there a way to forcefully bypass the start page?

If you install Start8 there is an option. Probably exists in other start menu replacements as well.

yes, I use Classic Shell to skip start page, there are several programs to bring back start button on the desktop and all offer a way to skip ModernUI, not only start page but also sensitive corners and all ModernUI "features"
I can suggest Classic Shell that it's free and works well

Despite the rummors, I still find it hard to believe Microsoft will not produce SP1 but this "Windows Blue". I have seen a lot of official information they work on Windows 9 and on SP2 for Windows 7, and this Blue story is very strange to me.

As for the Windows 8 lack of Start menu, this won't change soon. I have discussed the idea about it with MS staff - first it is way better for tablets and they are the tendency. Then they have invested so much in research about it - they use the so called Fitt's law and calculated that the new ModernUI interface and the new Start offers the users access to much more things in a much faster way - you have to see and read their research to understand it is true.

I have been actively using Windows 8 Pro since August 2012 and so far I find it way better than Windows 7 (I use 7 Enterprise at work).
