    If they start charging for using free Hotmail,
    Yahoo is going get bombarded with new
    subscribers.
    I don't think Hotmail will risk it's loyal clientele.
    Let's wait and see.

    I think it is preparation for the whole google gmail clone project.
    If people use outlook, perhaps they can bypass the inserted ads.
    Potential advertisers wouldn't like their ads being bypassed so MS charges users for using Outlook. Don't know for sure, but it is a possibility.
