    Hello,

Why would anyone wanna buy a pre-installed PC?

    OR

Given a pre-installed PC, why would anyone not want to format it on the spot?

All that said, never buy PCs from big companies?

    Mrk

Most people won't do much. That's why it will work.
The problem for them (MS) is that people are used to googling.
    What's the net effect? I don't know.

I don't want any good or bad object on my system, unless it is installed by myself.
A pre-installed system is nothing but unwanted good and possibly bad objects that can't be trusted anymore.
Neither HP, nor M$ decides what to install on a computer, the user will decide that. We are not slaves of HP and M$, although they want us to be. :)

    Lack of knowledge.
Everyone starts somewhere and it is often the only choice for certain areas.

    Also convenience.

Why? Our church recently purchased two complete Dell systems with XP and with 19" Monitors. I'm impressed that they run smoothly and quiet and fast.

Contrary to what I've read in the past, these systems did not come with a lot of Dell proprietary junk.

They do the MS updates automatically and there have been no problems.
