    Viable alternatives are:
    * Stronger encryption functions than MD5 (128bit)
    Whirpool(512bit): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WHIRLPOOL
    Ripemd(160,128,320bit): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RIPEMD-160
    Sha-2(256,512bit): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SHA-2
