Microsoft pid sniffer

    Hi

    I jus saw a ActiveX object in C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files, called "Microsoft PID sniffer".
    Anybody know what this is ??

    What info do you get if you right click on that file and go to properties?

    If you google Microsoft PID sniffer, you see a lot of references to spyware.
    You might want to try reading some of the info out there.
    If you can get the date that control was installed, you should be able to find the associated program.

    odc.cab is a Microsoft file.
    PID is personal information identifier.

    I did a Google earlier....and the links of the first few pages all dealt with HighJackThis logs....with valid entries concerning the CLSID 31E68DE2-5548-4B23-88F0-C51E6A0F695E....which is sometimes referred to as MS Database Daemon (PID Sniffer) o_O

    Good advice JB! Can find out almost anything on google..............like "why do batteries leak" ...... :) :)

    The advantages of being a member of ASAP ;)

    Although google is usefull at times, sometimes you can't beat the knowledge of a hman being :D

    I did "Googled" it before posting this, but it don't give any answer, just a bunch of HijackThis logs
