Microsoft flattens Google, Apple and others with some good ol' NUMBERS

    This statistic (if true, which I doubt highly) just shows there are a lot of stupid people out there willing to use a closed-source, proprietary, insecure, and unstable OS on mission critical servers.


    Yeah, and keep in mind that this doesn't mean 12% of them run Windows. Windows is the LEAST used OS on supercomputers, with a whopping 1% of the machines in the top500. AIX beats the Windows market share!

    Thats correct, only one Windows Server 2008 in that list of top 20 supercomps. Btw, that stat about Linux server is a joke, MS lost some of its biggest clients lately to Linux, significant among them is London Stock Exchange who suffered an outage with their .Net app running Windows machine. They promptly changed to Linux after that fiasco.
