I installed the updates, and when the computer reboots, I get the following message: Failed to connect to a windows service: Windows cannot connect to the System Event Notification Service service. This problem prevents limited users from logging on to the system. As an administrative user, you can review the System Event log for details about why the service didn't respond. I removed the updates, and the message no longers appears at boot. Any suggestions to fix this?

If using XP, is the System Event Notification Service on automatic as listed in the Control Panel, Administrative tools, Services?

Ron, I'm using Vista, and the System Event Notification Service is active. I looked at the Event Viewer last night, but after doing a restore, there's nothing in the viewer now. I guess I'm going to start installing the updates one at a time until I find the one that's causing the problem. I'll try to save a copy of the log when it happens again.
