Greens predict that an enormous amount of hardware will be junked by consumers and companies as Vista will refuse to play Blu-Ray and HD DVD content with current monitors and sound cards. 'There will be thousands of tonnes of dumped monitors, video cards and whole computers that are perfectly capable of running Vista - except for the fact they lack the paranoid lock down mechanisms Vista forces you to use. That's an offensive cost to the environment.'

Ok, so all these quotes are really the same. Based on the representatives here in DC, and the the predictions they make, I'd not take this source to seriously.

Don't mean this to say I support Vista quite the contrary. I replace a PC, just because I didn't want to have to buy one with VISTA, but I didn't junk it, I gave it away, and it will continue to live a usefull life.

Also I noticed my computer vendor is now offering PC's with a choice of Vista or XP on the high end models.

Also, just in case nobody knows this....If you need to get rid of any computer equipment (working or not), take it to a GoodWill store or the salvation army. They will take your extra's. I've given away quite a lot of stuff, rather than throw it away.
