I'll offer them 50 cents for a copy.

From what I've seen the surface pro is the only one worth buying.

And I can buy a pretty decent iPad for the price of it. MS is failing in mobile, it's just that simple.

The Surface Pro is pretty much an ultrabook sans keyboard (yes I know it has the cover). Its has x86 hardware and runs the normal version of Windows. Comparing it to an iPad is apples to oranges.

I wasn't trying to compare it to an iPad as far as function goes. It's simply a price comparison and, quite honestly, regardless of what the Pro has, it's just not worth the price in mine and a lot of other opinions.

Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet 2 is definitely an alternative for the Surface Pro. Available end of this Month.

It depends on your usage/requirements. Its specification are more comparable to a netbook. Its cheaper for a reason.

The Surface RT compared to an Ipad, seriously looses on app availability but having used one for some weeks, it's a very decent tablet imo.
Add the typecover and you've got a tablet-deluxe with your usual Explorer, Windows Office etc.
As mentioned above, depending on user requirements, a Surface RT can seriously out-perform an Ipad.
It's a tablet on which you can do actual work, not just consume media.

The Surface RT was beating the iPad on price last I checked. I might buy one at this price, but realistically, this price drop is signalling the upcoming 2nd generation Surface which may be a lot better.
