The only thing that link does is show my IP address. Does the same thing from http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/ and clicking on "Try the new Office Customer Preview".

I could be because I am using Firefox on Linux.

    looks like this is cloud-based:
similarly, Adobe is moving to cloud apps.

personally, i'm not too crazy about the concept of having my apps in the cloud but it might be good for some.

As long as they don't start pushing cloud services as a "must" have feature i'm fine. :D

That's the way I felt as well but was able to get the full downloads from my TechNet account. I actually quite like it. I can't wait for the final.

Office 2013 beta review - A mixed bag of old and new

Here's a very long, thorough review of Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2013 Preview (beta) office suite, including registration, download, setup, welcome screen and online integration, look & feel, data and logic flow design changes, overview & usability with focus on Word, Excel and Powerpoint, third-party file types support, account and file information, plus some other programs and features, some styling inconsistencies, overall stability, performance, and more. Should be interesting.

    Cheers,
    Mrk

I find it interesting how they compare Word 2003 with 2013 side by side. If they compared Word 2013 with Word 2010, people would realize the latter looks much better. :D

And, the mixture of the current look (in some windows, like options) + Metro is, in fact, a killer. o_O They want Metro? Go FULL Metro then!

Heck, the Metro Office doesn't even match Windows 8 UI, even less Windows 7 lol

Installed and opened a word document, which opened in Windows 8's new AppContainer sandbox, nice!
