    I Love this one
    *
    Who
    started
    Christmas?
    This morning I
    heard a story on the
    radio of a woman who was
    out Christmas shopping with her
    two children; after many hours of
    looking at row after row of toys and
    everything else imaginable, and after
    hours of hearing both her children asking
    for everything they saw on those many shelves,
    she finally made it to the elevator with her two kids.
    She was feeling what so many of us feel during the
    holiday season time of the year
    ---overwhelming pressure to go to every party,
    every housewarming, taste all the holiday food and treats,
    get that perfect gift for every single person on our shopping list,
    make sure we don't forget anyone on our card list,
    and the pressure
    of making sure we
    respond to everyone
    who sent us a card.

    Finally the elevator
    doors opened and there was
    already a crowd in the car.
    She pushed her way into
    the car and dragged
    her two kids in with
    her and all the
    bags of
    stuff.
    *
    When the doors closed she couldn't take it anymore and stated, "Whoever started this whole Christmas thing
    should be found, strung up and shot."

    From the back of the car everyone heard a quiet, calm voice respond,
    "Don't worry. We already crucified him."

    For the rest of the trip down the elevator
    it was so quiet you could have heard a pin drop.
    Don't forget this year to keep
    the One who started this whole Christmas thing
    in your every thought, deed, purchase, and word.
    If we all did it, just think of how different this whole world would be.

    Merry Christmas

    Hi,

    Merry Christmas to ALL of you !!!!! :D

    I hope you all have very nice days, whether you are with your family or with your friends or when you are alone.

    May I use this opportunity to add a few personal words, without any intention to hijack this thread.
    ... adding a few words because I could not keep on good terms with myself :'( :'(
    I know that I have hurt and offended several of you this year :oops:
    Not so long ago I did it again.....
    I wanted to post here in public my sincere apologies to all of you for having done so.
    It was simply said very unfriendly from me.
    And that while I wanted our forum to be a friendly place for all of us....

    Peace to all of you

    Most warmest regards,
    Jan

    I think I have come up with the perfectly politically correct salutation for us all during this season of joy and giving:

    Righteous Chrisfestikwanzanukah, everyone! :D

    Best to all for the holidays -- merry Christmas, happy Chanukkah, merry Kwaanza (sp?), and/or any others appropriate for this time of year. :)

    or the joke thread......

    A Cook's Night Before Christmas

    'Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the kitchen;
    I was cooking and baking
    And moanin and bitchin.

    I've been here for hours, I cant stop to rest.
    This room's a disaster,
    Just look at this mess!

    Tommorow I've got thirty people to feed.
    They expect all the trimmings.
    Who cares what I need !

    My feet are both blistered,
    I've got cramps in my legs.
    The cat just knocked over a bowl full of eggs.

    There's a knock at the door, and the telephones ringing;
    Frosting drips on the counter
    As the microwave's dinging.

    Two pies in the oven,
    Dessert's almost done;
    My cookbook is soiled with butter and crumbs.

    I've had alI I can stand, I can't take anymore;
    Then in walks my husband,
    Spilling rum on the floor.

    He weaves and he wobbles, his balance unsteady;
    Then grins as he chuckles
    "The eggnog is ready !"

    He looks all around and with total regret,
    Says "Whats taking so long....
    Aren't you through in here yet??"

    As quick as a flash I reach for a knife;
    He loses an earlobe;
    I wanted his life!

    He flees from the room in terror and pain
    And screams "MY GOD WOMAN,
    YOU'RE GOING INSANE !!"

    Now what was I doing, and what is that smell?
    Oh **** it's the pies!!
    They're burned all to hell !!

    I hate to admit when I make a mistake,
    But I put them on BROIL
    Instead of on BAKE.

    What else can go wrong?? Is there still more ahead??
    If this is good living,
    I'd rather be dead.

    Lord, don't get me wrong, I love holidays;
    It just leaves me exhausted,
    All shakey and dazed.

    But I promise you one thing, if I live till next year,
    You won't find me pulling
    My hair out in here.

    I'll hire a maid, a cook, and a waiter;
    And if that doesnt work,
    I'LL HAVE IT ALL CATERED !!!

    ..............................................
    Let's all agree to try to relax and enjoy the Holidays, OK? :D :D :D

    Why do some people say Xmas instead of Christmas. I know I do it myself but I never really know why.

    I see a few of the politically correct police decided to hijack a Merry Christmas to All! thread at Wilders instead of coughing up a new topic...so in the words of that guy in the red suit " Go Hug a tree" ;)
