    Re: MediaMonkey

Long time since I used it, but was a great companion with Winamp.

Nowadays I only do casual music and movie watching on my laptop, so Win media player is perfectly adequate, I install a splitter (Gabests) for MKV support, I also use a metadata manager (Metabrowser) for my movies.
Most of my media file get migrated to my network storage and/or my media machine.

I tried VLC again the other day, it still sucks for quality. A DVD I tried to play looked utterly dreadful.

MPC-HC is still the best in my opinion:
    • High quality video
    • Web interface makes remote control via smartphone apps easy
    • Built properly with ASLR security
    • Plays everything I've come across without extra codecs
    • Viewable and trackable on GitHub
    • 64bit builds available
    • Nightly builds available

For audio I stick to foobar2000.

+1 on that! VLC's quality sucks copared to MPC-HC + LAV Filters + madVR renderer. I would never use anything else
