Good news for McAfee users - starting Feb 24th, McAfee plans to change its regular DAT update schedule from weekly to daily.

Hopefully McAfee will surprise us some day by next eliminating the dependence on active x!

1-2 Quarters later than expected, but at least they are finally up to it.

Well, NOW I might seriously consider McAfee Internet Security 7.0!

It seems that other AVs are automatically forced to go this way, at least about marketing strategy. But above all, users would get this benefit.

It was about time. Weekly updates are simply not enough in these days.
This will also raise McAfee popularity since many users disliked it just because of weekly updates.

"Does "daily DATs" mean one release every day?
Yes and No. AVERT is planning to release at least one DAT file per day, Monday-through-Friday, including holidays, except December 25th and January 1st (or the nearest weekday). We will NOT release on Saturday or Sunday unless an outbreak scenario occurs where we assess the risk to a threat to be medium or higher."
