McAfee AntiSpy - Any Opinions?

    Has anyone tried McAfee AntiSpy? Any Opinions of it? Just Curious about it.

    I've seen it installed in quite a few very badly infected computers

    Whether it was installed after the infections in a futile attempt to clean them or whether it hasn't ever been updated I couldn't say. BUT from what i've seen in HJT logs far and wide it does not seem to be doing a very efficient job yet.

    It might be early days and most antivirus vendors are just starting to get into the anti spyware/adware field and they are finding that it needs different techniques to stop or remove them

    At this time I would not spend the money on it and would stick to adaware/spybot etc

    Mcafee antispyware is not so efficient yet as it is relatively new, like dvk01 I would still prefer to stick with ad-aware and spybot S&D.
