I don't fully trust security software bought on Ebay.

If I remember correctly, there was an incident concerning Kaspersky products, the keys were later revoked by Kaspersky !

How do you know if it's not an illegal copy or if the program has been altered in some way (example: backdoor) ?

You can get VirusScan+ 2009 for free. I saw this on dslreports.com but don't think you're allowed to post discount codes on wilders so here is the direct link to the post on ~Link removed. This is a limited offer and not for the public at large. - Ron~

McAfee is not reliable in my opinion, especially the security suite.

I did not found bugs on my pc with 2009 line. But it's not exactly lightweight to say at least :D
The thing that i find it more annoying in fact unnaceptable for me is that you can't add exclusions to realtime protection.

Is there any way to figure out if Artemis (home edition, not beta) is installed on your/mine system ? I didn't intentionally install it, but sometimes I wonder if it's there.

Here is the link to install it and a test to see if it's there. If you have not installed it as an add-on, its not there.
