McAfee 5.21 or Free AV?

    Hi.My mom has a celeron 700mhz Compaq and she is still using the McAfee 5.21 that came with it.She still recieves free virus updates for it but I was wondering if the scanning is as good as maybe AVG or Avast.She never downloads to her pc anything except email attachments from friends.

    If one or both of these would be better,would it be lighter on her systen than Mc5.21?

    She uses Wal-Mart Connect(Compuserve ripoff) and free Zonealarm and they take a hefty toll already.
