Hi, I'm trying to boot off a disk I just did a restore with TI8 of XP on. I get the following error:

    MBR Error 1
Press any key to boot from floopy

Here are the steps I took:

1 - Create image of C drive (80 gig Seagate):
2 - Restore image to a new WD 120G in firewire case.
3 - During restore only use 40G of new drive.
4 - Looking at new drive with explorer, looks fine (all files there).
5 - Use disk manager to create partition of remaining 80G of new drive.
6 - All looks fine (see two new partitions).
7 - Replace C drive with new drive as only drive on Master/Primary IDE.
8 - Boot and get the above error.
9 - Check in bios and it sees the WD drive ok.

I can understand why the MBR is wrong since the MBR in the image was for a single disk and now I've got two partitions of different size.

Ideas on how to fix this up? Thanks!

I am experiencing a similar problem. See https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=45799

I cloned a new disk and everything appeared to work ok, I could see the files and folders were copied to the new drive. However, when I made it the primary drive, the bios could not find a bootable drive.

I don't know if this is a bug with TI 8 or not?

Please let me know if you get a resolution.

    Thanks.
