I get the following when booting a two week old system.
(Otherwise the system boots and runs normally.)
    MBR error 3
I did not notice that until after I installed the free trial
    version of Acronis TrueImage 9.
Is that a Windows OR an Acronis generated warning?

I used Acronis Partition Expert2003 to determine
I do NOT have any recovery partition (or security zone?).
I am NOT asked to press F11, etc.

I understand from other threads I can start the
Recovery Console (XP-Pro-SP2) and type fixmbr.
That has always given me a warning, something about
non-standard etc, do I want to continue.
(That is a "standard warning" that I do not have handy, sorry.)

How safe is it to go ahead with that? I have a single boot
computer, (not even the recovery console installed yet).
The entire physical HD is used as one partition on the MB
    IDE port.

    Hello Rick,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

Please accept my apologies for the delay with the response.

In case you do not have any boot managers, boot loaders, security or recovery partitions then fixing your MBR is absolutely safe and will not affect your PC's functionality in any case, except of fixing that MBR 3 error.

    Thank you.
