Just to be clear...the free version of SuperAntiSpyware is "on demand" only. The Pro version offers real time protection (RTM). I have the Pro version and with RTM enabled it doesn't noticeably slow my system. You never know with RTM though, so download the trial and test drive before you buy.

Hello Victek123, thanks for opinions. I just bought the SuperAntiSpyware Pro, it seems no impact to my system. I like its light when compare to heavy burden of MBAM, though it is a good AM. I just hope SAS is really an efficient AM and MBAM can improve the heavy system load.

    Thanks for concerns.

I thought MBAM Pro checked files upon execution of .exe? That being said, I don't see how MBAM could slow the perfomance of the computer when playing games/browsing or whatever, since once executed, MBAM won't scan the application no more.

Hello Sadek:) . Thanks for your concerns. MBAM do the scan on access like sg09 said. Last time when i opened some folder which one of the .exe file inside contain malware and MBAM pop up alert before i execute that file. Actually MBAM did slow down my computer a bit but it is tolerable.

But why I criticize it slow down my system is because when i turn on my computer staying in Windows XP long enough like few hours i found that the system respond getting very slow. Normally i should be able open and play a video file very soon, but the system suddenly become very cumbersome unless i restart windows. I check the files defragment status which is very impress and my hard disk is WD Caviar Black 7200RPM 64MB cache which should be fast enough.

So i went to reinstall Windows !! still same, then i tried to isolate some software include MBAM then the problem gone!

This is the whole story, unfortunately i spent 2 weeks to find the root cause, never suspect MBAM before.

I don't really want to against MBAM because i am a paid version owner!! But before they improve the system performance i rather stick to other AM.

    Regards

These are my thoughts as well. He even runs double security apps for each layer, where you should only run one security app for each layer.

Spyware doctor starter 6.0.1.441 is free and can be used for real time protection or just backup scanner. Its running light for me (25mb memory). Make sure to go through options carefully as there are some not so obvious ones to enable.

This is hard to find as pctools does NOT make it easily available and majorgeeks only has an earlier version.
