The beta key wouldn't work on the update.

There is a big chance that this is a release version.

I have two lifetime keys. Both say invalid when I try to use them.

Try a clean install of Malwarebytes, I manually removed all remnants from the system including the registry then reinstalled 503 - updated to 504 and re-inserted my Pro license ID and Key and all is good.

The same process worked on another 2 friends systems as well:)

Thanks. That seemed to work. Didn't have the 503 installer, but had 502.

This version still high in memory use.

With real time protection disabled it has a peak memory usage of 469MB, and the commit size is 311MB.

For me it is about 165meg, with peak usage over half a GB. While high, this is actually lower than the last version.

For comparison WSA is using 2meg, peak of 50meg. lol

Yeah I know. I was hoping that it was going to be fixed. Before anyone gets on the soup box I know that mem use is not a good indicator on system responsiveness. I still like to have programs that use up as little mem as possible. Just my personal preference.

mbam.exe is a third of what it was previously for me though mbamservice is still quite high imo on Win 8.1

Me too. My first computer had only 256 bytes of RAM, millions of times less RAM than the laptop I'm using now.

But, sadly now days almost all software used ridiculous amount of RAM.

I agree, and get sick of hearing people say ram use doesn't matter. I didn't pay for 8gb of ram so my AV can use a big chunk. I want it free for games, running VMs, etc...

You're right, it is mbamservice.exe that is huge.

Well, I finally purchased the lifetime license directly from Malwarebytes for $14.99 with no tax. That is the best deal I could find. Tigerdirect is selling it for $12.99 but there is tax depending on where you're from and shipping is $4.22 so buying direct from Malwarebytes is the better option. I had the free version 1.75 installed and I had to uninstall and then clean out all instances from the registry. After I did that I was able to install 2.00.0.0503 and then update it through the interface to 2.00.0.0504. Finally I plugged in my new lifetime license and I was in business.

I love (and when I say love I'm not talking about Joaquin Phoenix having sex with his cell phone love. Although if my cell phone were Scarlett Johansson I would definitely give it a try) the new interface! It looks awesome and it's easy to navigate around. Now I never felt it was necessary to have MBAM running all the time. I felt doing a complete scan once a week was enough. But IMHO this complete overhaul of what was already a great product truly justifies running MBAM in real time right alongside my AV and firewall. The good news (at least on my machine) is that boot times are quite fast. A nitpicking issue with me. I hate anything that slows my boot to the desktop. Version 1.75 and older all added time to my boot and then had significant but not serious impact on system resources. This version, at least so far, does not slow internet surfing, or copying files, or opening applications, etc. I am running this new version of MBAM along with WSA and Privatefirewall and it's all running light as a feather. I could not be happier with my security configuration. At least for today. :D

Are you saying 2.00 boots faster then 1.75?
