I second that, it's time to buy a malwarebytes licence. ;)

One issue I have started having the past 2 days or so, it there seems to be some issue of me losing the malware database, and/or error in updating. I keep getting a pop-up notifying me of the error. Maybe I will try uninstalling/reinstalling and see if that helps.

There are no standing issues with the Beta other than the mayhem from yesterday that perhaps is not resolved in your situation. Start a new thread at the MBAM board for maximum MBAM staff visibility.

@hayc59 - if you have an issue with what I've said anywhere on this Forum feel free to use the report bad post feature.

The MBAM board is preferred as this is where this software is supported.

Recent statements by MBAM Staff and others is to start a new thread there but that's not saying staff will not look here as well.

    Hello,

    Beta 1 (2.00.0.0502) did auto-update via the built-in updater to beta 2 (2.00.0.0503).

Got my first BSOD in probably over a year. The cause was MBAMSwissArmy.sys. I have the mini dump from Windows.

I had right-clicked my USB drive in Explorer, and hit Scan with Malwarebytes. MBAM opened, but right after it completed Pre-Scan Operations, bam, BSOD.

Note I was using the second to most recent beta version.

After my computer had rebooted I updated MBAM and scanned again, to see if I could replicate the results, and I didn't get a BSOD, so yes, the update did fix the problem.

    Re: MBAM 2.00.0.0504 Beta Released.

MBAM 2.00.0.0504 update has been released.

Many should be pleased with the fixes & improvements.

If you already run build 0503, it will notify and offer to update to 0504. :)

I got the update to v2.00.0.0504. :) The tray icon has changed, i.e. it now shows an exclamation mark.

In my 0504 installation, a circled exclamation mark appears in the lower-right of the system tray's MBAM icon if one or more MBAM2 protections are off. Nice feature!

Is that the case for you?

It must be, because I have one of the protections disabled, too! ;)

Was also prompted internally that MBAM 2.00.0.0504 was available but now back at trial version.

If you have a valid, but currently unused, license for the system in question, I believe you may now apply it to your 0504 build to upgrade it to a "Licensed - Premium" version.

My build 0504 build update process found my previous MBAM1 Lifetime/Pro license in my registry and applied it without intervention.

I am not sure what would happen if the free ID/Key from the Malwarebytes website MBAM2 announcement was tried.

    HTH :)

Thanks for your suggestions @1PW - I have reached out in several ways to the MBAM Team.

Still really liking the software and the direction it's going.
