MaXX desktop

    It's a (partial, buggy) port of IRIX's desktop to Linux:

    Remember my thread about the hypothetical best desktop? Well this is basically it, IMO. It has:

    - Sloppy focus
    - Nice subdued colors
    - Retro good looks
    - A desktop menu that never snaps shut
    - Iconified windows on the desktop

    It is also stupidly fast, because it doesn't waste system resources on eyecandy glitz. Do check it out. If you have the time and the skills you might want to help out the devs too!
