My el cheapo E5200 with you know which policy management application also does it in 1 second, only difference is that it is not the time it takes longer, but total startup time. Okay I cheat a little by using Iron.

 

I understand, may be it is my bad English that you repeated it. With policy management the time between click and web browser opened and ready for use is 1 sec for first time launch, consequetive launches take less than a sec.

I said I cheated because IE8 takes first time 3-4 seconds, repetitive launches 2 secs, while Iron takes 1 sec (say between 1 and 2) cold and for repetative less than a sec. I am not talking of delay, but total time here.

Have you tried Chrome/Chromium/Iron with SBIE, might also reduce total launch time. When you are really obsessed with performance than GeSWall Pro is the fastest.
