Hi zach, I have the same problem here. I've noticed it on the XP computer. Haven't noticed it on Win 7 yet. I didn't pay much attention to this because I'm running the Pro Version to update every 15 minutes, which it does. I'm on the Admin side of the computer. Sometimes this happens from both Decktop Icon & Task Bar Notification Area Icon.

Started up webroot and tried to update malwarebytes and check for update button is greyed out. So there is a conflict somewhere

Looks like it's only doing this on Windows XP. I haven't seen it happen on Windows 7 yet. Maybe a bug? I sent my logs to Webroot today, we'll see what PrevxHelp has to say about it after they look at the logs or I get a reply from Support.

Probably not much help but I've also been running this combination for some time (6 months on W7 x64 and now on W8 x64) and had no problems (update button OK).

Before receiving an answer for Support I decided to run Webroots "System Cleaner" (default setting). This may have fixed the problem. See this post on Webroots Forum: http://community.webroot.com/t5/Web...te-Button-Grayed-Out-WSA-Bug/m-p/14284#U14284

Reply I received from Support today:

    Hello,
Thank you for sending us the diagnostic logs and posting on our forum.
My apologies for not responding yesterday, we were unable to reproduce the issue and wanted to investigate further today.
I see that system cleaner being run on both admin and non admin user accounts may have resolved the issue. Perhaps a Malwarebytes temporary update file had become corrupt.
Should you have additional questions or the issue returns, please send us a reply in the "Send another message:" section of this page.
    Sincerely,
    The Webroot Support Team

I hope this fixed the problem, haven't seen the button grayed out after running System Cleaner. :)

Didn't work for me. Only way malwarebytes works is if webroot is shut down. I think webroot recognizes me as the administrator sometimes and other times not.

This is definitely very strange. Could you see if MalwareBytes is listed as Monitor in Active Processes? Perhaps changing it to Allow will correct the issue.

    It's not listed there.

    Hi all :)

If it is MBAM Pro that you want to run on demand, have you thought of setting MBAMScheduler and MBAMService to "MANUAL" in Aministrative Tools/Services, [EDIT](not mandatory) deleting MBAM in "Run" (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ in the registry (be cautious: save your registry first!) or with a start-up managing software and rebooting?

    Cheers,
    Herve

Problem is Back! System Cleaner didn't fix problem. MBAM Pro is listed as "Allow" in Active Processes.

I get the problem as described by zach, only intermittently. It seems to be a problem, peculiar to XP.

In this case I temporarily, shutdown FW protection in WSA, and updated MBAM definitions.

P.S. I run MBAM on demand, only.

    Hi Zach! :) ,

Weird... cause i don't encounter this problem with Vista Ultimate or Win7 when i wish MBAM Pro to run on demand.
Since you don't want to run it realtime, have you tried to uninstall the PAID version and use the FREE one, just to verify what happens, after backing up your system of course?
    Truly sorry for you!

    Cheers Zach,
    Herve

Shutting down firewall didn't help either.

Tried the free version. Same problem again.
