We cant go into the details for obvious reasons but it has to do with factoring in exploited processes as part of the detection instead of just the payload.

Tnx for the heads up on the deal. I just made my payment for the PRO version.

I ran MSE yesterday just before logging off and it ran clean. This morning before opening anything I ran MBAM (free) and it caught 6 trojans which I checked through VT. All confirmed trojans. That convinced me that MSE is not enough.

The 50% off came just at the right time, however, at full price it is worth the money.

Can someone tell me how the licensing works for MBaM?

Is the license tied to the HW and is it easily transferable? I tend to reinstall (unattended) on the same machine quite often and do not want to deal with apps that will not let you easily re-activate the license without making you jump through hoops, like forcing you to request reactivation online etc. SAS comes to mind.

    No, not at all.

Very easily - just install free MBAM + enter your lic for the Pro on the new machine.

That won't happen here. Very unlikely.

I didn't have any reactivation issues on my new box.

Reading through this again I realized that I could have explained a bit more here:

I should have also mentioned that this is not a static technology. As 1.70+ versions mature the ability to block exploit born malware will improve. We have 2 dedicated and independent lines of research devoted to exploits currently feeding data into this new functionality allowing it to continually adapt to new exploit born malware.
