There's a great deal of information in this and other threads to help you decide. For what it's worth I run MBAM Pro v2 on three machines with no problems. I've also introduced MBAM v2 to at least a dozen customers and set them up with the free trial while I'm removing all of the PUPs infesting their computers with no issues.

Did you find out what driver was involved? There's a free utility called BlueScreenView that simplifies reading BSOD dump files.

    Hello silver0066:

The Malwarebytes staff, and forum helpers, are certainly eager to help you. If the BSOD's minidump.dmp file(s) have remained in C:\Windows\minidump.dmp or %SystemRoot%\minidump.dmp, we would certainly like the opportunity to analyze it/them.

As with some other MBAM2 users, the possibility that a trouble is with your system can not be overlooked.

Please consider attaching your BSOD dump(s) to your own topic in Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Help.

If those/that BSOD dump file(s) have been deleted, we would still like to assist and see you through a proper MBAM2 re-installation. In any case, you would be the benefactor of a better system. Your call.

    Thank you. :)

I noticed that rootkit scan is not pre-selected. Does anyone here keep it permanently selected?

Thanks. I'll be trying it soon.

  7. No unresponsive system when scanning with rootkit enabled?

EDIT: just tried, seems to be fixed now. So also enabled rootkit scan, thx

  8. Question to V2 users, somebody experiencing same problem?

When I try malware domain list:
    - using domain names (second column name only) <> MBAM URL filter does not block the website
    - using IP-address (third column) I get an MBAM "Potentially Mailicious Website blocked"

    Using Chrome on Windows 7

    EDIT1:
MBAM exe launched, but GUI not available, no log made: de-installed

    EDIT2:
Roll backed windows7 Install image (non optimised). Only difference I can find is remote assistance service disabled and IE11 disabled. After re-enabling IE11, MBAM started normally again

    EDIT3:
After a windows restore, the IP-filter was disabled and could not be brought up again, de-installed, waiting for 2.1 release

in 1.75 under settings/updater settings you could set to be notified of or download a program update. This choice seems to have been removed?

And it deleted some false positives. could not restore file marked for deletion after reboot

In Malwarebytes v 1.75 in the Updater Settings tab there are 2 check boxes.

[] Download and install program update if available.

[] Notify me when a program update is ready for installation.

correct. That is what i meant. These are not in version 2? Program updates are forced on people. I prefer to google updates before installing. Some updates can cause problems

The only official download server link for Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware mbam-setup-1.75.0.1300.exe, whose file size and hashes exactly match the master copy, is through malwarebytes.app.box.com.

Hashes may always be verified with VirusTotal.com

The Malwarebytes staffers, and volunteer forum helpers, will always caution against the potential danger of non-official downloads.

    Thank you.

Question, how long can I stay on Mbam 1.75 and still receive Sig updates as I am not upgrading to 2.x in the foreseeable future

I upgraded finally from 1.75 to 2x yesterday and I'm glad that I did.
As of yet, no way to disable auto download and installation of new program versions, but they promise that will be made available in a future release.
I consider it as an essential ability, and really hope they give users that option very soon!

It is very likely the MBAM1 compatible database updates may continue for up to one year from the release of MBAM2.

So is it safe to go back into the water? I'm still treading water here with 1.75. Keep us posted as to any negatives or positives and maybe I'll decide whether to take the plunge back into 2x .(yet again)

Obviously your call as to whether or not it's safe.

I finally read enough success stories to convince me that I could move forward with my 2nd favorite security program (Sandboxie being the 1st favorite).
But I also created a new disk image beforehand, so that if things got crappy, I could go right back to 1.75 and a stable system.

The only minor glitch I encountered was on one W7 machine, as soon as I installed 2.0.2 I got an Action Center message saying VIPRE was not running, or wasn't up to date.
I knew that to be incorrect, so I selected the option to stop monitoring the AV that way. I just checked back and reset Action Center to monitor my AV and I see that the warning message has disappeared.
So that's why I called it a minor glitch.

Otherwise, 2.0.2.1012 is running great on 2 W7 machines.
