    Hello kronckew:

The Malwarebytes' staffers would appreciate the opportunity to analysis your Diagnostic Log Sets by attaching them to your own topic in Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Help.

    Thank you.

Ah EMET - it has great potential, but currently it is still voodoo in my experience. I bet if you remove it the problems with MBAM will go away.

    Hello Victek:

As attractive an idea as that is, (and definitely should be considered) I too run a maximized EMET 5 TP2 w/MBAM2 in an always on, W7Pro64SP1 system and I've never experienced a freeze or BSOD in 2.5 years.

I am hoping one of the sharp-eyed staffers will recognize something in the requested diagnostic logs.

Please never let me discourage your ideas. :thumb:

I'm also interested in what the logs show. Regarding EMET when I tried it it reminded me of those dungeons and dragons games where you spend the whole time wandering around in the dark until something bites you LOL. I hope it will eventually come pre-configured for apps.

Fyi, W7-32 and W8.1-64 both run fine wih EMET4.1 and MBAM 2.0.2.
I wouldn't necessarily expect it to run flawless with a beta, even if it's a TP v.2.
Once 5.0 goes final, I'll see if MBAM gives a peep.

Added MBAM 2.0.2.1012 back to my netbook. I once thought it was the contributing to a boot up slowdown on my netbook so I ran my machine for a while without it. Installing latest version of Avira(262) led to a speed up over the previous version (350).

What's going on with MBAM 2.0.2.1012? Checked - scan for rootkits > did a scan > comes up with Unknown.Rootkit.Driver >
mbam.sys as detected item that MBAM wants to quarantine. Their own file. Never had this issue with v.1.75. I take this to be a false positive. Maybe they need to work on their integrated rookit scanner.

Checked the mbam.sys file on metascan & virustotal. Scanned with GMER rootkit scanner.
All came up clean. Went to Malwarebytes forum and found this:

Post#1: Has 7 unknown rootkit drivers including mbam.sys. Aware of problem.

    malwarebytes

Not good when their own file gets detected when rootkit scan is checked.

Avira has a longstanding, serious issue with slowing boots. It's unusable to me because of that.

Yesterday when I wanted to update MBAM it notified me that there were no further updates available for the free version 1.75 and offered to download version 2.0.2.1012 which I accepted. It removed the old version. Don't care much for the new version though (UI) as well as before I could do a right click scan for 1 particular folder/item which now doesn't seem to work for me. (yes I ticked the box for Explorer context menu entry) When doing a right click scan in MBAM for just an image or file it seems to do a regular threat scan, thus not the scan I want.

I tried MBAM 2.0.2.1012 , but reverted back to 1.75 because of what I posted earlier. MBAM 1.75 is still being updated as I just installed the latest defs about 10 minutes ago.

I scan for rootkits also. Did you check "scan for rootkits" in MBAM 2.0 before doing a scan?

Also check post #685 and the Malwarebytes link. I'm not the only one with this problem.

Thanks Compu KTed. I reverted back to 1.75 and the below picture is what I get every time I open MBAM. Therefore I have to press cancel every time I want to use v 1.75. Darn! Do you get same box?

Yes same box. J_L is right about unchecking the boxes in MBAM . I forgot to mention that's what I did also.

    Malwarebytes 1.75 support: (Post #39)
Like we've have done with previous versions, we'll continue to support the previous version
for one year after an update. We released 2.0 in March so support for Malwarebytes Anti-Malware
1.75 will continue until March 2015.

So how's version 2.0 in terms of stability and usability?

I think it's time to look for my old license key...

Version 2.0.2.1012 has been downloaded by so many for which it just simply works.

BSOD's every time I scan. I had to go back to 1.75 until they fix this bug.
