Fortunately, I was not affected by the last bug, but honestly, I uninstalled MBAM from the two PCs I have licenses.
Good luck to Malwarebytes, but I'm leaving the boat.

I took the same precaution as I've only been using it lately for on-demand scans despite owning two licenses.

I hope everyone who had issues gets them resolved quickly and successfully.

To go where? It's what a company does after something like this that shows it's true sincerity or lack thereof. After a similar incident a couple of years ago with SAS all I got was " oh sorry".

I understand your frustration with us fblais and its rightly so. All i can say is we deeply regret this and are taking a long hard look at everything to prevent this in the future.

After a (very) long line by line search through affected Windows/Program folders, it looks like my previous search for missing files through the Start menu was incorrect. I've found all files I thought were gone, so it looks like I dodged a bullet. I hope to God I don't have to go through that again, lol. That said, I'm a loyal, paid customer and realize this can and has happened to many vendors. Avast has done it, Microsoft has screwed up their patches, it's a hell of sweating moment on both sides, but it happens.

I posted earlier that even though I have 2 licenses to MBAM Pro, I was uninstalling because of all this. That was an overreaction on my part. Shadowwar, you have been very forthcoming in all of this, and haven't for a minute tried to shift responsibility. I appreciate your honesty. I'm keeping Pro -- just unchecking the box to automatically quarantine... ;)

When unchecked what happens? Do you just get an alert when there is a detection?

Pretty good idea, actually. I like auto-quarantine because it lets MBAM handle everything for me..but, this little show makes me think that through carefully. I'm just glad I never tried to reboot during the issue, or I might very well had not been as lucky as I am.

I completely agree this whole thing has been handled beautifully. Some folks went through/are going through big problems because of it, but responsibility was taken, apologies given and fixes are being made. 1st class company in my book.

I'll stand pat for the time being and keep my system images up to date. Which I do anyway.

^^Hammer, do you deliberately keep MBAM at 1.70?

    Fortunately I've dodged.this little drama.
Please, keep some hands on deck for the XP 'IP block' issue also.

Baserk was this not fixed for you since yesterday? We removed a lot of dead ips and have been getting good response about the ip block issue freeze being resolved. Please make sure you are up to date since yesterday.

The next version of the software has the ib block problem progmatically resolved along with the database update currently should of resolved it for most people.

You are right. On the XP system, my defs were outdated 3 days.
After updating; booting up/rebooting, checking/unchecking the 'IP block' module, etc don't cause any slowdowns/freezes anymore.
All is well and MBAM runs fine again.

    Hello.
After I read about the option to have MBAM *not* automatically quarantined malware detection, I reinstalled it on both machines, and took care to disable the option. (never noticed it before)
So I'm back in the boat.
Also, my congrats for being so responsive and helpful to all the users!

    Best regards,
    François

Thanks Fblais. Any ideas or suggestions feel free. We have had warteams all weak resolving issues for customers along with how to prevent this ever again.

Alot of time and money is being invested to prevent this ever again.

Before the updates get pushed out, couldn't there be an automatic simulation on a clean box and trigger an alert if a system file is flagged?

Yup this shim server will have all common apps and oses along with all past and future file fps to prevent as much as possible.

Its basically a traffic cop. Either the databases passes with no fps or it doesnt go out. It has to be fixed and resubmitted to go any further. The whole system will only delay update process by two minutes which is well worth it to prevent this happening again.

This is a monster server to handle all the malwarebytes supported oses at once along with server oses. Basically top of the line that you can get right now.

This is not the only safeguards we are putting in place though. We are going through everything and procedures.
