Yep, I'm having the same issue here (currently I only have v2011.12.29.01, but according to that post it says that v2011.12.29.02 is the latest version).

It likely has something to do with the problem with the forums being down (which I'm really hoping gets fixed soon, I know they've been working frantically over there to get it up and running again).

Were you ever able to get 1.60 installed and working or are you still using 1.51.2?

We don't have too much up about Chameleon yet, but you will find some info about it in our Help file (though mainly just how to launch it), but if you have questions, let me know and I'll do my best to answer them (though there are certain things that we won't share publicly because we don't want to expose too much info about how it works to the bad guys ;)).

I don't go into help files that often...I try to intuit from the GUI, how it works and various functions. So, if you would like to tell me how to launch, it would be appreciated. Also, I am running in on demand only, presently. So, is Chameleon functional in that mode, or not?

Sure, just go to START>All Programs>Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware>Tools and open Chameleon.chm. That opens a help file that is the launcher for the program. It contains a list of links to various executables for Chameleon (they have different names, as different threats have different white/blacklists for the executables that they allow to run).

Chameleon works with both the free and PRO version so you can launch it no matter what :).

Thanks!...will do. I notice the forums are back up and I am logged in there at the moment. I must have been prescient, when I decided not to partake in the beta testing. ;) ...Funny, how none of the problems were revealed before the public release.

@exile360 it would be nice if mbam required the completion of a CAPTCHA when changing settings after typing the password.......it'd be an extra self-protection against malware......please consider it in the next version release.........

there's no slowdown......afaik there's no settings in wsa to exclude mbam......I allow mbam if and when wsa warns about it though.....

    okay thx....

already done that after installing the two......

LOL, the tester seems not knowing how to use Chameleon  Btw, the video is gone?

    EDIT:
Found a re-test, now the testers actually understood how to run it: :D

    Hello Exile,

Is Chameleon available only if MBAM is already installed? Or is there some way to use it on an infected machine to assist in the installation of MBAM?

    Thanks.

We're working on making Chameleon available through our website as something that downloads and installs Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. This should be very soon and I'll have Samuel post here when it's ready.

Just an observation... with the upgrade to 1.6, the protection logs seemed to get harder to read at a glance. A lot busier, I guess you'd say.

They still ran it wrong, you only need to try the Chameleon executables 1 at a time, he ran a bunch at once :p.

Yes, we added much more detailed info because they were quite lacking. They now provide much more useful information, though it does take some getting used to reading them :).

1st place rompin. Bruins are kicking all sorts of posterior. I do love MBAM though. I've been using it for a long time. One of my fav's.

On another note, I'm happy to report that after more thorough cleaning (ccleaner registries + manually finding/deleting some leftover scattered folders) plus your suggested reinstalling methods have resolved my issues! :)

Looks like you are indeed correct--it seems the others who are experiencing updating issues (aside from this) are linked to Zone Alarm in specific.

I have switched to another snapshot, and after the recent hullabaloo concerning this version, I have held off updating for the time being, and am sticking with 1.51.2.1300 ...;)
