Do digital cameras ever carry malware? I am talking about malware in the camera itself, not on the memory card. I am shopping for a digital camera and would like to know if a used digital camera would present an extra security risk compared to a new camera.

(If it matters, I am especially interested in Micro Four Thirds cameras from Olympus and Panasonic.)

Yes they do. My camera cards get hit with something almost every time I visit one of our photo shops. It not just cameras or their cards, my sons PSP gets infected too. It's really just part of living were I do. It's not really an issue as we expect this and these "infections" never get introduced in to our home systems
