    What's new?
    - Added support for filtering logs.
    - Added support for pausing protection for a period of time. If you enable protection manually after pausing protection, MD will not change the protection back.
    - Fixed a bug when handling files on FAT32 partition.
    - Fixed a bug that cannot stop displaying alert for creating registry link even if the protection is disabled.
    - Fixed a bug that cannot save Alternate Data Streams to a file.
    - Fixed a bug when scanning kernel DPC timers in Windows 7.

    Thanks,
    Xiaolin

Thanks for the update. It runs as smooth as a baby's bottom -- as always.

May xiaolin & all of the Malware Defender ohana have a glorious and peaceful Christmas.

Knew you would get around to including a "Pause Protection" from the systray icon.

    Thanks,
    Robert

Tried it now for 3 days - impressive with the direct comparison to other hips programs.
But at least i kicked it cause it crashed in normal mode when some apps
starting up (tray icon disappears). restarting brought me the rule options
dialog - after setting it MD crashes again (the win7 report was startet as child).
i had to go back on learning mode to avoid crashes. bad for me - i dont have
    any clue why o_O
Some programs never came up when MD was running (like UT2004).
i had to end it and then that game started finally. sometimes the whole
    computer was blocked.

next point to mention - i didnt really found an exception list - only a rule with
"folder(s) = igonore" did it somehow - but the apps which started beyond
were listed at the end (sandboxie folders).

There is an unofficial pdf help in German at my drop.io site.
    http://drop.io/subsetlines
Easy to understand and with a lot of pics. :D

BTW I have no problems with UT3 and OA or MD, but it seems like you have always problems with UT2004. That's strange. o_O

    Cheers

Hi, I am not using win7, but for XP in order to run smooth you have to make at least a couple of reboots on MD learning mode to ensure proper start of all (startup) programs.

MD always ran in LM at least - only less than 5 times in normal mode.
Its not possible to get all activities in 3 days - only the most used.
after learning it went fine - but the first start in normal mode prevented it.
Its like Firefox starting IDM (DL-Manager) the first time - nothing.

Thx/Danke for the tut - had a quick overview - you created rules with
"<folder>\*" - that is new for me, cant say it was default.

but not today, next week maybe again when i have again some more time. thank you

see you in 2010 again :D

    # had some fixing on the win7-system - no crash again on ut2004 and others.

I have come back to XP & MD. The two are soo light compared to Windows 7.

    Thanks xiaolin, great job.

BTW, you could come up with some sort of profiles:

    Light

    Medium

    Strong

Then the user could fire up the profile when system vulnerabilty is inevitable.

Edit: Also, ability to log events whilst in paused mode. This could be used to review the log file after installing an application.

Good idea. Until & unless xiaolin adopts your idea, you can easily log installs using Zsoft Uninstaller -- it's free.

    Thanks bellgamin,

I actually use Total Uninstall 4 for the monitoring, however MD is useful for pointing out suspicious behavior.

    Thanks.
