Lvcomsx.exe

I have LVCOMSX.EXE running in the task manager. I understand it is part of the logitech webcam software.

In my firewall I have c/programs/logitech/video/albumDB32.exe blocked.

I do this because if I want to compress say some log files and email them, as soon as I right-click on the files and choose send to compressed zip, albumDB32.exe wants to connect to the internet.

I gather from doing a bit of searching that it likes to phone home, but has anyone any idea why it tries to use this method to do it?.
