I've written a review of Lubuntu 14.10 Utopic Unicorn 64-bit edition, a Ubuntu-based distribution with LXDE, covering live session, installation in a quad-boot setup, and post-install testing, including look & feel, networking - Samba sharing but no Samba printing, Wireless (2.4GHz and 5GHz), partitioning, slideshow, multimedia support - MP3 and Flash, applications, resource usage, stability, customization, competitive value and relevance, other considerations, and more. Enjoy.

Great review, as usual. I was torn between Lubuntu and Xubuntu, for my working horse VM.
Now it's clear, I go for Xubuntu.
