It appears to me that someone at FileForum/BetaNews finished a High School course in website design & decided to jazz up their formerly excellent website.

I can live with the new stuff except that the titles of Files are now in palest pink letters against a pure white background. The low contrast, faint letters, & glare make the File titles difficult to read & tiring to the eyes.

If you agree with my grumbles, please CONTACT them & ask them to fix it.

It is the way it is only because of CES 09. It will be back to normal soon, after CES is over. It does that every year to allow for CES coverage.

I hope yoyu're right, but that's not what they told me.

Unless I am the only one with problems viewing their website, I do hope that others will let FileForum/BetaNews know that their new color scheme is bummers. :doubt:

I think you're the only one seeing the problem. I don't see any pink color at all. Maybe you just need to calibrate your monitor.

I don't think it's my browsers (Opera, Firefox, K-meleon). Besides, other websites show just fine.

Here's a screenie. I refer to the pale red file titles such as those shown ("ChrisTWEAK" & "CopyToDVD").

Maybe I am the only one who has difficulty seeing these colors. Ah well - such is life.:doubt:

You are not alone Bellgamin, I also find the text colour uncomfortable on my eyes.

Went to report it using your link, but couldn't work out the letters in the captua (human being test)

Fully agreed, sickly yellow, I was shocked at first and then, totally lost.

    Another :thumbd: :thumbd: :thumbd:

I saw it yesterday and was really disappointed; I wondered if Martha Stewart had bought the website !
I liked the classic look they had and really hope this change is temporary.

It's kind of like changing the color scheme of Windows 2000 from the dignified default to something for kids, and I think it actually detracts from the useability of the site.

Another thumbs down. I've been using fileforum for years primarily because of its clean, easy to navigate interface. The new format melts my eyes. Shareware is shareware - are there any other alternative sites anyone recommends?

    Hello,
Looks a little garish, but reasonable.
I did not vomit when I saw it, so it's ... well, ok.
