    Hi all!
WinXP SP2 is my system and at startup i'm running BOClean, NOD32, Ewido, ZoneAlarm Free, SpywareBlaster and StartUpMonitor as residents. When i read all the topics posted here, i must admit i get lost! Do you think my config includes all the "condoms" necessary to be protected against ANY web attacks or intrusions? Sorry if my post is a little bit naive but i'm not an expert in web defense softwares. Thanks for your replies.;)

    Hi Heco,

Your well beyond the basic recommendation of a Firewall and Anti-Virus, which is likely more than enough. Most members and guests of security forums are "fans" of security software, where usage is usually more of a hobby and a desire to influence the development of software, although for some it's a result of past infections. I don't mean to trivialize the usage of any of these 'extra' security applications, as we all have different reasonings, needs and desires that define why we use what.

Do you have any particular concern? Or are you just looking for suggestions to increase your security. If you are just looking for suggestions, it would be beneficial to describe your general PC knowledge level, general browsing habits and application used, as well as email client, participation in P2P/Torrents if applicable. etc.

Your security is good. But let's say you wanna download something. You download it. Let's say you wanna scan it. NOD tells you it's a trojan. Ewido and BOClean tell you it's a trojan. But you feel you MUST run this program. So you disregard your fellas and run it anyway. Oops.
It comes down to you. Your condoms are only as good as you keep them on.
