    Hi, Good People,

Just returned from a few days holiday to find that my young son had cleared my external drive. Besides other important pieces of information, my serial numbers for downloaded software also went.

The two serial numbers are for TDS-3 and Processguard. How do I start the process to recover the serial numbers?

    The Problem gets worse

    Hi,

In the search for my serial numbers, I located DiamondCS Forum. I logged on with my information and I am being told that Forum doesn't know me.

    Can anyone help?

If you email DCS they should be able to help you, although probably not until after tomorrow (since it's the weekend.)

Recover My Files (http://www.recovermyfiles.com/) is an excellent data recovery program that I was just turned on to, if you want to go that route. The trial won't recover any files, but it will show you a preview, which may, at least, be enough to recover your license. It's best to download it to another computer and burn the program files to CD, however, so you don't overwrite the deleted files.

    Hi there!
The DiamondCS forum is apart from this one over here, so if you never joined the DCS forum yet you have to join that forum too.

Now for the licenses: email support@diamondcs.com.au with your email address and what you bought and when and which way you paid it and you'll have the keys back another time.
For the membersarea on the site you'll need your serial for entrance unless you ever changed your password into something you could remember more easy.

Didn't you keep the registration emails, keyfiles, copies of them anywhere?

Hi Jooske, and thanks for your reply.

With respect to TDS-3: this was purchased via Paypal just two weeks ago. So proof of purchase is no problem. Processguard: this was purchased just last week through my credit card..again proof of purchase is no problem.

With reference to DCS: I really believed that I was a registered member. In the members area, there exists a record of what I have purchased, and the facility to download those two products. Finally there is the reminder that I am on a discount rate of 10%. It is that particular area that will not allow me to use my logging on details.

As far as savibg my details of purchase...I did!!! The were safely stored on an external dive. The drive was detached from the computer and also stored in a "safe" place. However, my Son needed an external drive, and without my knowledge, found my drive... and the rest is history.

    Regards

We from here have no access to your personal data, proof, etc :) only DiamondCS support or sales has.
More as it was all rather recent they'll easily trace you back with your personal info.
And you did not keep a copy of the confirmation email etc with the other copy on the external drive?
Doesn't the "forget password" feature in the Members Area help you either?

My description of joining the forum was for the DiamondCs forum at the site there, which is not connected physically to this forum here at Wilders' (other server).
So for the DCS forum you need to register separately if you didn't do so yet and write support a nice email you would like entrance in the TDS Private Registered Operators Only Forum too.

That "recover my files" tool sounds very nice.
Time ago i urgently needed such a tool and found different other ones which i d/l on a diskette to change my system as little as possible, files seemed more or less recoverable, bought one of them after which it said it would never be necessary to buy their software if you only took measures blablabla so i felt bad and extra bad as the registered version was not able to recover the file at all! (never heard of refund either).
So i do hope this Recover my files tool is better!

    Hi Jooske,

Well, I took your advice and used "I forgot my password." Surprise, Surprise, I received an email with the exact details that had previously been rejected by that particular area.

I have, however, sent DCS an email requesting their assistance with the recovery of my serial numbers.

Finally, I downloaded "Recover my files" and ran the tool. The partition that had all my records was a previously brand new drive. The tool found "some" files but not all, and to recover them, the asking price was $67.

I will wait for DCS to answer my email.

    Thanks for your time, Jooske.

You might find some of these tools very helpful to have at hand
    http://www.filerecover.com/download.html
    http://www.filerecover.com/file-recover-tutorials/video-tutorials.html
Easy Recovery from http://www.ontrack.com works the best (in terms of recovering deleted files).
    Restoration http://www.snapfiles.com/get/restoration.html
    R-Studio from http://www.freedownloadscenter.com/...e_and_Repair_Utilities/R_Studio_Download.html

    Not to forget Google desktop
    http://desktop.google.com
and Copernic desktop tools http://www.copernic.com/en/products/desktop-search/index.html .
The google desktop tool crashes at install on both my systems, it's still a beta but promissing, -- look at their pages for the nice tools they have by now.
Copernic is indexing fine as well.
Those two are fine for finding deleted files and emails in your system; you might like to check the video instructions at the filerecover site to see how to do it.

Some registration code you find back in the members area once you have that access back, etc. and the TDS keyfile you have in the TDS directory - at least make a copy of that!
Wondering if you do need back the serial if you have your members area entrance back now.
