I have created a hidden file container with truecrypt on an usb stick.
Now I have just deleted the file container from my usb.

It seems I now have less space on the usb stick even after formatting.
Is there still a hidden section which cannot be accessed anymore?

Nope. If you delete the container, you've deleted the hidden partition as well. If you now have less space on your USB drive than you had before you began, it sounds like either your drive is a) starting to fail and you're losing access to space. b) bought an el-cheapo too good to be true drive that isn't actually as large as it was claiming to be. (IE A 1GB drive that was advertised as a 4GB drive and possibly formatted to make it appear as such. It won't hold 4GB though).

Does the total available space seem round? (1, 2, 4GB? 128, 256, 512MB? or is it strange like 1.3GB or 300MB? If the prior I want to say you just got a smaller USB drive than you thought or smaller than marked. If the latter, I'm gonna say your drive is failing.

It's a not that shabby corsair voyager gt 16GB
    Free space it says:
    16.023.330.816 bytes / 14,9 GB
I do not know if this accounts for a loss of 1,1 GB
