    Hello everybody,

i try to write in english but it is not very cool for me ; so, excuse my poor langage !

i would to know -with look'n stop et W98SE - how to configure the access to Internet for these process (autorise to connect , autorise to open an application) :

    > MPREXE.EXE
    > EXPLORER.EXE
    > KRNL386.EXE
    > RNAAP.EXE
    > RUNDLL32.EXE

i have the "evolued rules set" installed ; i can surf but somme pages are impossible to access for me ; for example, i can go on grc.com, i can download "leaktest" but i can not go to the "shieldsup" page ; also i can not go on MSN (even with the MSN rules)

    thank you for the answers
and have a good day !

Many thanks to you, Thomas M. :)

i have still two questions :
    > why you don't have these process asking to go on internet :
    MPREXE.EXE
    KRNL386.EXE
    RNAAPP.EXE
    RUNDLL32.EXE

    > how you made to know the ports of an application , for ,then, made the yellow points ?

    have a good day

    Hello Bella Furia,

1.) On my system MPREXE.EXE is not asking for access at all.
2.) KRNL386.EXE is blocked in both cases (works for me, though)
    3.) for RNAPP.EXE (see my point 1.)
    4.) RUNDLL32.EXE (see my point 1.)

I use the "try & error" method ;)
My Win98 machine is behind a router on a local LAN.
Whenever a program asks for access, I initially block it. Then I check the log file to see what exactely was blocked. In case a program does not work, I permit the minimum of traffic by limiting the protocol/ports....

    Hope this helps,
    Thomas :)
