Looking for good MTU etc tweaker......

    I am looking for a good (free)MTU etc. tweaker that will not negitivly mess up my FireTune settings........

    Nope. TCP Optimizer will only tweak Windows settings. Most internet speed up tools shouldn't do anything that would affect Firefox in any direct way.

    IMHO you will not regret visiting the Broadbandreports Tweaks Forum and let those folks have a go at tweaking your settings. Be sure and visit their Rules page before posting.

    Thanks Bubba...bookmarked it case i ever move up from dialup............real happy with dialup with the tweaks i am running now.........seen lots of dsl and my connection really is not that much slower.............most of time...

    Just for general info in case others stumble across this thread. The broadbandreports tweaks site posted above is for all connections....dial-up included.

    Hi Rainwalker,

    1) Save your about:config file first
    2) Download/install/run CableNut: http://www.cablenut.com/
    3) Save in another file your about:config
    4) Compare about:config files for differences

    P.S. IMHO Cablenut is better than TCP Optimizer

    UPDATE: For what's worth, Cablenut slowed me down...
