to sum it up:
Have the language.dll and the language.lng files in your lns directory and then don't forget what is written at the bottom of the page Phant0m referenced:

Then restart LnS...

Do I ahve to change the name of the deutsch.lng file too?? Have done everything, but in configure it will not show up

Hmmmmm looks like language.dll hasn't been updated, for the moment try exiting out of Look 'n' Stop Application and re-running through main location using Windows Explorer.

It'll work if you follow the instructions, exit Look 'n' Stop Application and run it by accessing Look 'n' Stop path using Windows Explorer and executing

So - in order for me to get this right - the dll and the german lng files are working, but LnS doesn't retain settings, right?

How do you launch it? Registry key/Autostart menu? Its path in there (DOS short filena~1 issue?)? Do you keep settings per user or globally?

Yes - when I start lns thru the starmenu it will not keep the german settings, starting it as lns.exe thru explorer it works,

StartUp with regkey will not keep either

again: can you verify which is the *exact* path that your start menu entry is using? Maybe its a short 8.3 vs. long pathname issue.
and are you keeping your settings per user or on a global level? (So we can have a look in the registry in the right place)

my startmenu is:

C:\Programme\Security\Looknstop\looknstop.exe

I keep it on a global level - I think --((

well then, can you try this:
open a command prompt and try if results are retained if you launch it this way:

1. C:\> C:\Programme\Security\Looknstop\looknstop.exe

2. 1. C:\> C:\Progra~1\Security\Lookns~1\lookns~1.exe


the global/per user settings are in the Options tab, lower right corner, two radio boxes.

only way it works is opening windows explorer, and run looknstop.exe from there

this is strange.
can you look in your registry:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Soft4Ever\looknstop\Plugins

if that key exists and has contents like the attached sshot.
(for global user settings that should be in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Soft4Ever\looknstop\Plugins)

 

It is a problem of path, if you manually start Look ‘n’ Stop from its location, it works, if looknstop.exe is started automatically at Start-up or through the Start Menu, it doesn't work. Frederic had fixed this problem by updating the plugin_language.dll file; however it appears he didn’t yet update it on the server.
