I need a little help with setting up XP to play a certain sound at logon. I'm trying to get The Office theme, with is only 32 seconds, to play at logon. The first problem is "logon" sounds do not work. The sound does play with "Start Windows" though. The second problem is that even with the WAV under "Start Windows" the file gets cut off before it finishes.

    Any ideas?

rename officetheme.wav to startwindows.wav and replace file in c:\windows\media (i think).

    if all else fails, format.

I think I've solved it. Thank God because The Office just gets me in a good mood. At least now I'll be happy when I logon to work. Here's what I did:

    1. I had to get the WAV file to both "logon" and "System Startup."
    2. The file contains no spaces.
    3. I had to reencode the WAV; instead of 44 Khz it is 16-bit stereo 22 Khz.

Now it plays all the way through.

    SWEET!!!!

Is there any way to get my system to play the above file after my system comes back from Standby or Hibernation modes?
