Log is fairly clean. Can you describe when these lockups occur? Does it lock where you have to power off the computer?

Thanks for your review so far. Lock-up often occurs when the computer has been on and idle for 5+ hours. It surfaced recently when I had been given a URL link to a friend's personal web space. [My default browser is Mozilla] In this incident the web page (a photo album page) only partially loaded the thumbnail photos then showed "done" in the lower task bar of the browser. When I tried to click on a thumbnail to view an enlarged version of one photo, the entire screen was frozen or locked-up. Nothing was active on that page, so the X would not close it. The back-button isn't active either. I first tried Ctrl+Alt+Del, and that sometimes gives me the Process Task Mgr screen to End Process, sometimes sucessfully, but other times that will not even work to exit. Only once so far, I've had to power-off at the battery back-up strip. The "off/on" switch on the computer tower will NOT shut it down when it is in this condition. Hope this helps in furthering your thoughts on the resolution.
Thanks so much for your help.
