    Hello!

I just downloaded Lns 2.05p3. Now I'm starting to install it but I have coupe of questions. I readed 2.05p3 Package Available Thread but still don't understand everything.

    1. Should or Shouldn't I enable beta features?

    2. Is it recommended to update some LnS files after setup? I mean beta drivers, pathes, lnssvc or something?

    3. I have phant0m ruleset and I use broadband dsl. Do I need modify some rules?

    4. I have wired and wireless lan in my home. Have I use different settings for those?

-MikeNAS / I know. My English is really bad.

    1. as long as your processor doesnt support hardware DEP, it should be ok to enable the beta features

    2. theres no files that need updating

    3. i think u just need to modify the DHCP/DNS rules.

OK, thanks WSFuser. I have Intel Core Duo which supports hardware DEP. So no beta features to me. BTW I have at this moment this setting on my Data Execution Prevention "Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services only". Is it wise to select "turn on DEP protection for all programs and services except those I select" instead of that?

What are those beta drivers and lnssvc service?

EDIT1: Can I some how disable my processor DEP and enable beta features? Is it even wise or am I better secured with leaving it on and beta features disabled?

EDIT2: If I understand right 2.05p3 includes those "beta drivers" (2.05p2 pathces?!) and newest lnssvc. So it's more simple now, just install 2.05p3 and you don't have to update anything. 2.05p2 looks harder to use, if you want to add all of those patches which are included in 2.05p3.

EDIT3: Is there any newer LnS files/patches/other avalaible than 2.05p3?

this thread has info on the driver.

as for lnssvc its used for installing the looknstop service.
u can disable DEP but i dont know if this would let u test the beta features or enable "watch thread injection"
    correct
well, there is this beta driver for testing DEP...

I also have a core duo processor in my laptop and i'm able to run some of the advanced features. The options which seem to cause problems are watch dns calls, watch thread injection and dll detection. I'm seem to be able to run 1 of them at a time with no issues. however if i try to enable more than one at the same time i usually get errors.

I also have DEP enabled for all software.

At this time this driver and this kind of detections are no longer supported, especially with a PC with DEP protection.
    Sorry for that.
