I'm using Acronis TrueImage Enterprise Server 9.1 build 3718 and I'd like to add linux servers to my backup policy. I've installed the linux agent on a server with Debian 3.1 (2.6.8 kernel) and it appears to be running just fine and I can login remotely from a Windows XP system using the management console. My concern is that I can only login using the root account, and the password seems to be transmitted in plain-text (I checked using Wireshark). Is there some way to encrypt the password or specify an alternate login account to be used just for TrueImage?

    Thanks!

    Hello filledvoid,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Remote Server Backup Software.

We are sorry for the delayed response.

Please note that root permissions required in order to connect to the Acronis True Image Agent installed under Linux operating system. We do have plans to change this behavior of Acronis True Image 9.1 Server for Windows in the future.

If you want us to change the behavior of Acronis True Image in any way or add some new features to this product, please feel free to post any of your suggestions in Acronis True Image WISH-LIST thread.

    Thank you.
