    1.
I need to extract some files from an Acronis backup of a webserver on a Linux server Linux Ext3 filesystem.
I am not experienced with Linux so I want to mount the image and extract the files in Win XP. Could this program be an option to do this: http://uranus.it.swin.edu.au/~jn/linux/ext2ifs.htm

    I did it almost….
I am now about to restore the files on a USB drive as Ext3. Then access the files with use of the program mentioned above. It would be nice if this could be done from within Acronis True Image.

Has anyone managed to make this work with the Windows Ext3 drivers from within Acronis using the program from http://uranus.it.swin.edu.au/~jn/linux/ext2ifs.htm It will take some hours to restore the partition to the USB drive, so it would be nice if it could have been done in minutes from within Acronis.

    Hello tiur,

Thank you for choosing Acronis True Image (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/trueimage/).

When you explore the image you mount the virtual drive. If the file system on this drive is unknown for Windows (for example Ext3) then you won't be able to navigate to files on this virtual drives under Windows. However, it is possible to restore the image of Linux partition under Windows.

    Thank you.
