    I think the article could be better, it is nicely understandable for non-techies but I find it lacking.

    That is not a hard question, of course their accounts could be compromised and any personal information associated with it(PM's, user data from the account control panel etc), the attacker could use the account impersonating the owner and if the owner uses similar/same passwords for other accounts, those could be compromised as well.

    But the most important thing is that instead of just asking these questions they should of course recommend potentially affected users to change their password ASAP.
