I currently use McAfee SiteAdvisor (Free) but am considering adding another link scanner. The one that I am looking at is LinkScanner Pro. Please answer the following questions:

    1. Is there a significant slowdown in web searches with LinkScanner Pro? I did not notice much of a change when I installed SiteAdvisor.
    2. I have seen comments that having both SiteAdvisor and LinkScanner Pro on the same PC should not produce any software conflicts. Has anyone had any problems having both of these on the same PC?
    3. Would another combination be better? Example: Finjan SecureBrowsing & LinkScanner Pro?

    Thank you.

    1. I saw a bit of a slowdown while using LSP. (Linkscanner Pro works differently the Siteadviser)
    2. Never tried that combo.
    3. Not sure.

Linkscanner pro conflicted with other software that I have installed and had to go.
Might try again sometime as my lic is still good for a while.

I only run LinkScanner Pro. Have done for 8 months now. Used to run Site Adviser before. Can reply as follows:

    1. Not seen any measurable slowdown as a result of using LSP compared to
    Site Adviser.
    2. Not tried this but would ask why one would want to have both. They use
different methods but IMHO LSP's approach is more certain and up to date.
    3. Could not answer that one as have no knowledge of Finjan's product.

LSP has worked in harmony with all the other security-related software that I run either interactively or on demand and is IMHO a very good piece of kit...not sure what will happen to it now the company has been bought by AVG.
