The Lightest One would be the one without a resident shield, as in - no on-access protection. I can wholeheartedly recommend ClamAV which is my sole AV and I like it very very much.

    (yep, smarta$$ here)

    Cheers,

Notepad would be even lighter than Clam -- & only slightly less effective.;)

    Since this is A vs B, I heartily recommend "A" for "A"vira Antivir-PE -- it's so light that {like Ivory soap} -- it floats. :ninja:

I'm sorry bellgamin but I'm not much much of an AV guy so I have no idea what you're talking about. But I must admit - you got me interested there. Can you perhaps provide a link so I can take a closer look?

Also, this one could be a fairly viable alternative - if you ask me (not that you do, but...).

    Cheers ;) ,

Truthfully you should try a few of the free ones and see for yourself which one is lightest on your system. All av's are not going to run exactly the same on all computers, so if I tell you product "A" runs the lightest on mine it might not on yours. So in reality it is better to try them and see first hand which one works the best for you.
